An Ode To My Husband….

Stuart Scarbrough I am a horrible cancer patient of a wife. In all the madness, I have not yet got you a Valentines Card. So I thought I’d take to my blog to write you, a well deserved, Public Display of Affection! (I know how much you love PDA.’s!) 😛

Stuart, in my head there doesn’t seem to be any words good enough, to describe exactly what you mean to me. Every day you inspire me. You motivate me to get out of bed every morning. The level of drive and determination you have astounds me. Your philosophy of taking each day as it comes, is definitely the way forward. You do so much for me and have always been at my side through all of the ups and downs (unfortunately mostly downs) in ‘our’ cancer journey. I bet when we got married and said our vows, you didn’t think you would have to follow through with the ‘in sickness and in health part’!

Im so glad we met as holiday reps in Majorca in 2001, as we were destined to meet, you are my SOULMATE!

You are a great Dad and an amazing husband. I love you to the moon and back!

Happy Valentines Day and Ican’t wait to add further to our memories!

Always and Forever

As I said to Stuart, about him taking credit for your strength and determination, you too must take credit for his…..you are a perfect match.

Someone posted something on their FB wall this morning about couples becoming stronger etc through hard times, and I do genuinely agree with that. I will pop it on your wall too x x

Katie you are an absolute inspiration. The love you and your husband share is an unbreakable bond, pure and strong, like you. I hope you don’t mind if I pray for you and your wonderful family. A husband and father, Phil.

We don’t know each other but we do share the same bond of being mothers. I pray for you and your family. You are an inspiration to me and I will take from your courage to be brave within my own life’s battles. We all end up at the same place in life’s journey, some arrive sooner than others. Our energy never dies and I know this because of a near death experience. Don’t be afraid and believe.

    • Michelle,

Thankyou for your lovely positive words. I feel very overwhelmed that my blog is being read by people I don’t know. But at the same time, it spreads the awareness that is needed of cancer in younger people.
      Xx

I also think by you sharing your journey (terrifying, sad, happy, beautiful, courageous and inspirational) you are helping anyone who has had to face death either themselves or watch a loved one die feel as though they’re not alone. My husband was murdered when our son was only 6 months old and I felt completely alone. When I read your story and other stories of struggle it reminds me that we all will have our end at some point therefore it is so important to make each day count and to be grateful. You will be ok not matter what. There is more to life than just being alive on earth. There is more to a person that the human body with a heart beat. I’ve seen it and know what that “more” is and just know everything will be ok. Your family will be ok and u will all be together no matter what. xoxoxoxo. I love your heart and courage, peace be with you.

        • Michelle,

Thank you for your kind words. It must have taken a lot of strength to share that on here with me, and my heart goes out to you. Life throws so many horrible things at you and it can be such a roller-coaster. #staystrong xoxoxoxo

    Hi Katie.

Every week I ask Russell, one of Stuarts friends, usually after the Monday night football session, how you are doing. I sit opposite Russell at work. I have kidney cancer which has spread to two parts of my lower and middle back. I take a drug which is controlling the cancer with little side effects but I’d be lost if it wasn’t for the support of my wonderful wife Sue, my wonderful two kids Tom and Charlotte, the fantastic people at work and my wonderful friends. Work keeps me going. I can relate to your feelings, sadness and worries and yet I look forward to my cancer journey with positive attitude. It can be dam hard though.
Best wishes to you and all your family.
    Dave.

    • Hi Dave,

You are absolutely right in everything you say. Cancer is a huge roller-coaster of emotions and more times than others it can be low. However, I believe, like you positive attitude is the way forward. That is what I am focussing on. Keep strong and keep that positive attitude as we both know #cancersucks.
Love to you and your family.
      Katie xx
