The Day After The Treatment Before

Waking up this morning, I felt a little scared just to swallow. Having a psychological lump in my throat and taking tablets don’t go together!! I had to start my 3rd Chemo drug this morning and they are bullet sized. I’ve never been very good at taking big tablets and unfortunately these can’t be cut. It took me a bit to get in the right frame of mind…that sounds so silly, but I think it was a mixture of how big they were and what they were.

I’ve worked out that just taking a drink at room temperature or something which hasn’t been in the fridge, isn’t as simple as it sounds. A lot of thought and preparation has to go into it. Normally that means a splodge of hot water put into it from the kettle. It doesn’t hurt, so to speak if the drink is too cold, it just catches like my throat is scratchy.

After my mid morning sickness blip I was hungry and ate a big bowl of Chicken Super noodles with cheese, 2 slices of bread and a chocolate doughnut. Please don’t slag the cheesy super noodles until you try them they are really yummy!!

I felt the tingling in my hands today when my dad had accidentally stuck two glass measuring jugs together, and I tried to pull them apart. It was the strangest feeling, it was like a tiny electric shock that lasted a few seconds.

xxxxx

PS  Thank you all again for all you messages, cards and flowers. The outpouring of support shown by all is moving not only to myself but my family as well.

You now what’s lovely you are sounding in high spirits, and never mind those Cheesy noodles, I would welcome the chocolate donut!!

I can relate to the tablet taking, I have never been good at taking tablets, and even now have to dance round the Kitchen in an attempt to swallow just a paracetamol so you have my full understanding there…maybe try the dance in the morning!! I do have to concentrate and I am sure as he days go by you will be a dab hand at it.

Yes,apologies for hounding Stuart, but we really all are routing for you Katie and genuinely want to be sure you are alright. You are very much in our thoughts x x x x
